For the HARP connoisseur: All those notes from one musician? All those sounds from one instrument? Unbelievable. Paul Hurst seems to defy gravity as he masterfully creates soundscapes to include the richest of musical traditions with flawless adaptations for harp. Virtuosity, daring style and original compositions redefine harp playing.
For the PIANO connoisseur: Imagination and reality merge with Hurst's poetic piano improvisations on his album Terra Sancta.
The Hurst rendition of Rhapsody in Blue is the George Gershwin transcription for solo piano. The celebrated Paul Whiteman orchestra commissioned Rhapsody In Blue in 1924, with orchestration by Ferde Grofé and Gershwin as the piano soloist. With the tremendous success of Rhapsody In Blue, Gershwin went on to combine orchestra and piano parts for this stunning transcription of Rhapsody In Blue.
For the SYMPHONY connoisseur: An adventure of breathtaking beauty awaits with Sequoia Rhapsody, A Tone Poem for Harp, Piano and Orchestra.
